Competitive BJJ Team

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

In youth competitive Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, young practitioners, typically ranging in age from 4 to 17, compete against each other in organized tournaments. These tournaments follow the rules and regulations set by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) and may also be governed by other organizations depending on the location of the event.

Competitors are typically divided into age groups and weight classes to ensure fair and safe competition. The objective of the match is to score points through various techniques, or to submit (tap out) the opponent using a variety of joint locks and chokeholds.

Youth competitive Brazilian Jiu-jitsu can be a great way for young people to develop confidence, discipline, and physical fitness while also learning self-defense skills. It can also be a fun and exciting way to compete and test their skills against other young practitioners.
